How much does LASIK cost?

It may seem difficult to get a direct answer to this question while searching LASIK online. The price varies from practice to practice and none seem to offer their price before you come in the door. This is because their pricing depends on whether or not you have astigmatism, the strength of your prescription, if you’d like to ensure enhancements, and if topography treatment is needed. Their price increases with each of these items. We’re different. We are transparent about our prices. For LASIK, the cost is $2850 per eye or $5700 for both eyes regardless of astigmatism, strength of prescription, or topography, and our pricing also includes enhancements and eye medication. To help with the budget, we offer zero percent interest financing over 24 months to bring the monthly payment to a little over $200 per month.

Why does LASIK cost so much?

The truth is, it doesn’t. When compared to the alternative of glasses and contact lenses, the cost for LASIK is very reasonable. Think of it this way — you get to own your vision as opposed to renting it from the glasses and contacts industry. Not only that, LASIK is safer than wearing contact lenses. LASIK is more affordable, safer in the long run, and also gives you better vision than contact lenses. Use our affordability calculator to see how much you can save by getting LASIK.

In the United States, the average cost of LASIK is $5000.

Owning vs. renting your vision:

The average person spends $25,000+ on glasses, contact lenses, solution, eye exams, etc. It’s like renting your vision from the glasses and contacts lens industry. Worst of all, these will NEVER correct your vision.
LASIK Pricing Factor #1

Technology

Here are the main factors that go into the cost of LASIK. The lasers used for LASIK are very advanced technology with the precision to write letters on a human hair. Two different lasers are needed, and the most advanced LASIK is not possible without BOTH lasers.

THE FIRST ONE creates a computer guided flap

the SECOND ONE reshapes the cornea

LASIK PRICING FACTOR #2

Your Surgeon

The most important part of vision correction is the surgeon behind those lasers. Believe it or not, the surgeon makes all the difference. Yes, the lasers are an essential component for advanced LASIK, but are simply tools used by the surgeon. It takes years of education, training and experience for a surgeon to be adept at vision correction. When considering your vision correction surgeon, look for one who’s willing to take the time to explain the procedure, listen to your concerns, and who has put in the dedication to be the best in the field. During your initial consultation, you meet directly with Dr. Waite who will formulate a vision correction plan for you. He will make sure you’re comfortable with the plan and all your questions have been answered. Post operatively, Dr. Waite makes sure everything is going according to your plan.

HOW IT WORKS

What about LASIK discounts?

If you think you can get LASIK for $250 or $220 an eye, you’ll be disappointed. This bait-and-switch technique is used to get you in the door. This is how it works. You first come in for a free consultation at a discount LASIK center. The “bait” part consists of luring you in with an extremely discounted LASIK price. The “switch” happens when a salesperson informs you that based on testing, you do not qualify for the discounted price. The free consultation is also riddled with upsells, such as upgraded laser technology, post-operative aftercare program, and ensuring enhancements. With “discount LASIK,” the actual price of the surgery after all the upcharges and add-ons, ends up being far more than the advertised discount price.

We respect you, your time, and your intelligence. We have no desire to lure you in with a low price only to increase it when you get here. Your well-being means everything to us. We view refractive surgery as a life-changing decision, during which you put trust in us to do what is best for you. This is not an assembly line procedure. Because of this personalized care along with the expertise and experience of Dr. Waite, we do not discount LASIK or any of our other vision correction procedures. For accessibility, we offer several zero percent interest financing options.

Discounts are used to sell commodities. Your vision is a priceless asset, don’t discount it.

REAL LASIK. REAL RESULTS.

All LASIK is not the same.

For example, if you need brain surgery, would you start searching for a discount brain surgeon? Your vision should be treated the same. If a LASIK center is charging less than an average price, you should be asking yourself how they are able to do that. What shortcuts are they taking, or technology are they skimping on in order to save costs? That perceived savings is not in your best interest.
